I'm very relieved to be completing this program. This year has had quite a few unexpected changes, professionally and otherwise. The main change came when I left my nonprofit work, ready to finish up the M.Ed. and dive in to help transform education. I'm close to landing a great job where I'll be able to do just that. Fingers crossed.
The final capstone was a great challenge, to synthesize all learning into one product, was also a challenge to incorporate TPACK, SITE, SAMR, and all the other theories about sense-making. I'm really seeing that this program is a design program, not just media, but of student minds. I've always been interested in the motivation of students, what makes them tick, what drives them. This program allows me to see further into that glimpse. I know that I'm able to see more from this perspective. I've enjoyed the cohort, I've found the zoom interface frustrating at times, but overall I see this as a great addition to my educator's tool belt. I plan to apply these tools professionally, and in my interactions. Thank you too the cohort, and all the professors for the individual support. Good luck everyone!

My video was very close to a final cut in the last stage. The one issue was the resolution of the pictures. At first I thought this was due to the fact that I uploaded the video file at a lower resolution, but later found that it was the pics I chose to include; specifically, the pics that I edited in Pixlr editor were saved at a lower resolution. I went ahead and replaced them with higher resolution pictures, and soon found my final product.
I have not started my poster project yet, but I think that will be pretty straight forward with the ppt slide and requirements spelled out so well, I plan to complete this before the Wednesday class. Do to being out of town, I've fallen behind a bit with some of my pages, my learn more page has some work still. I found meeting with Jane very helpful to get input on what goes were and some design aspects. Honestly, it might be the simplicity of my goals and LIL site, but this has not been too tricky technically. I find weebly very intuitive, I've also created 100+ page websites for my nonprofit, the hardest part is making that many pages cohesive and with the same voice, with this you have to have the audience in mind.
The one area I haven't worked out yet is the survey I would like to put on my site under assessments. I will try to embed the survey this week, I'm hoping that it will be utilized as I think it will be helpful. I'm thinking about putting a link to it on my homepage, to direct traffic that way. It's helpful that we've already written a lot of the copy through all the classes we've taken. I hope to finish the LIL site with one more big push. So far it has been a fun experience, still working out some kinks, but not too worried about it. |
